Sioux Falls Jazz & Blues is proud to announce another successful JazzFest this past week. Over the three days, an estimated 125,000 people attended the Sioux Falls music festival. Headliners Dr. John, North Mississippi Allstars, and Sheryl Crow packed in music fans from around the country.
“We are excited with the reception Sheryl Crow received on Saturday night. Festival go-ers and organizers all believed it was a larger crowd than last year’s Joe Walsh performance,” said Executive Director Robert Joyce.
Jeff Masten, a longtime JazzFest Committee member, observed what he believed to be one of the strongest crowds at JazzFest. “I think if you looked around it was the best or one of the best crowds ever. The entire concert area had started to fill in by 9pm, with a full hour to go before Sheryl Crow was to take the stage,” said Masten.
It is always refreshing to see people from the community and around the country come together for the love of music. The festival ended on a high note with eye-catching fireworks, capturing the excitement of the weekend.
A big thank you goes out to JazzFest committee members, volunteers, and the sponsors. Without them, JazzFest would not be possible!
Festival organizers are already looking forward to next year’s JazzFest. The dates set for 2014 are July 17-19. We hope to see you there!
